Beth + Pete // A wedding under the Brooklyn Bridge

I'm so excited to be sharing some images I took shooting with Amy Rizutto Photography at The River Cafe in Brooklyn this past June.

My main role at this AMAZING wedding underneath (literally, right underneath) the Brooklyn Bridge was the photo booth! I was so excited to be in charge of all of the fun stuff that goes down at wedding photo booths! In addition, I helped out a little bit during the ceremony as well as getting some detail shots around the property.

This was such a fun wedding to be a part of. The bride and groom and the ENTIRE guest list were from New Zealand! They wanted to have their destination wedding in NYC and wanted the entire New York experience! You absolutely need to go and check out Amy's post to see all of the fun NY moments this cute couple shared on their wedding day.

It was a very intimate ceremony with about 40 guests total and The River Cafe is THE perfect spot to have a small, intimate gathering such as this one. From the ceremony location views including the NY skyline and Brooklyn Bridge in the background, the black and white striped ceiling, to the front courtyard that was so beautiful I wanted to just stay there and hang out for quite some time, this wedding had it all! I am so honored to have been a part of it! Enjoy this small sampling from the day and like I said before, go and check out Amy's blog post to see the full thing!

Ashley + Steven // The Thayer Hotel, West Point

West Point Wedding at the Thayer Hotel | Bride and Groom | Pink and White Bouquet

When we moved to NJ, I don't think I really realized just how close we would be to West Point. Even though Paul didn't go to West Point, he is still in the Army and so West Point remains a place that we obviously have ties to. We took a tour back in September of last year and thoroughly enjoyed the history and elegance of the campus. I knew right then and there that I wanted to shoot a wedding at West Point at least ONCE during our time living here.

Thanks to Laura, that goal has now been achieved! I am 2nd shooting a LOT for Laura this year. Probably around 10+ times or so and when she sent me her list and I saw one of the weddings was at West Point, I instantly grabbed that one! I was looking forward to it all year long!

It was an absolutely perfect day. Everything took place at The Thayer Hotel including bride and groom getting ready, the first look, ceremony, portraits and reception. Its so nice when its all contained because you get to concentrate more on the actual photography rather than gathering up gear and driving all around, finding parking etc..

Laura and I shot some details together in the lobby and then I headed up to the room with the guys to get some getting ready photos. We met outside for the first look and thats when the emotions really kicked in. Steven was overwhelmed with excitement and nervousness to see his beautiful bride and Ashley's reaction when he turned around was one of my favorites I have ever seen.

Both of their families were fun and gracious and kind. The bridal party was spirited and the family element was strong. It was an intimate wedding with a little less than 100 guests, but they still knew how to party. It was an amazing and fun day for all involved and a beautiful union between Ashley and Steven!
